Check your car has Toybox → Boombox → Lock Sound before purchasing. A compatible vehicle with the external Pedestrian Warning System speaker is required. Model name alone does not guarantee compatibility; availability varies by region and software.

Install your WAV download

  1. Download your purchased file. Name it exactly LockChime.wav, removing duplicate suffixes such as (1).
  2. Copy it to the USB drive root (top level), outside all folders. Keep existing TeslaCam recordings; do not format the drive just to add a chime.
  3. Connect the drive to a USB port supporting data. Check your vehicle manual for its location.
  4. Open Toybox → Boombox → Lock Sound and select the USB option if available.
  5. Test safely with the vehicle parked and locked from outside.

Official compatibility guidance

Tesla's Model Y door-lock manual confirms the Lock Sound menu and PWS requirement. Consult your own vehicle manual for model-specific instructions.
